i jointly own a house with my ex partner we have a child who lives there and she also has a daughter from a previous relationship who is also living there i know that i can not legally ask for the property to be sold until my daughter is 17 but if her daughter wants to stay at the property after she has had her baby willi have to wait until it is a certain age before i can ask for the house to be sold

No, only your child is taken into consideration. You are not the father of the other children so you legally do not have to provide a home for them.

My hubby is going through the same thing with his ex, his son is 14 and the ex has a daughter of 6. Our solicitor has told us that the daughters age has no bearing on the case as the daughter is not my husbands child.
if you are not married you can sell the house before your child is 18 its not as straight forward as you think. get legal advice first half hours free it will be worth it for you all.
