Thanks for the answers to 16D. That was very cryptic!
Just a couple more needed please:
27A. Place each name inside ground kernel (6). I think possibly an anagram of "kernel" but not sure.
Also 18D. Card's dishonesty (7). I have --a-e-y
Finally 17A. Motorist surprisingly said to be free of accidents (8,6). I have "driver" as the second word.
You help is much appreciated.
