the Government announced last year that pensioners were to get free bus travel from this april but as yet they have not received any imformation on this matter.

Has anyone been told what it will consist of, will it be just local travel or travel in your county.

In Hampshire in the Basingstoke area we received notification weeks ago of where to collect either a free bus pass to be used for travel in our county or bus tokens which we have been using for several years. We went to collect tokens or fill out a form for a bus pass a fortnight ago.I suggest you contact your local county council to register.

It will as a minimum be free local travel in your local council area I think - that is the council that issues the passes. Many will extend it to the county.

In my area it's free travel that either starts or ends (or both of course) in the county.

If you already have a bus pass (probably for half price off-peak travel, the usual current arrangement) then you'll get sent details - if you want one for the first time you'll have to ask for details and apply.
