Gas Boiler Again

I had some good advice about my gas boiler problem a couple of week ago so I'm pushing my luck a bit further.

I now have quotes for a replacement boiler and I'm trying to decide whether to go for a Worcester Greenstar 21KW or the little more expensive Vaillant EcoTec Plus 415.

Any advice?

Thanks Giggsie.

Just to be sure, I took advice  (i.e. 'phoned a friend').

As I thought... nothing much in it. Both are excellent choices. It was mentioned that the EcoTec has a higher output on the heating side (25kw.) For anything above 10 radiators, that may be a consideration.

Both come with standard 5 year warranty, but both can be upped to 10 years if fitted by an authorised installer. Worth looking into.

You wouldn't go wrong with either, but the extra output of the EcoTec may tip the balance.

Don't be afraid to ask away, 1581960. There are others on here who can contribute on boilers. They may just need to be woken up  😁

Thanks The Builder,

Very kind of you to take the time and trouble to be helpful, I have 12 rads and your comments are taken on board and will help me decide.

Here's hoping, perhaps this will awaken "others on here who can contribute on boilers"

New(ish) make for the UK but presumably big in their home country - Korea - I opted for a Navien last June (cos it was cheaper!).

5 year warranty, working well thus far & the supplier was very attentive to a couple of problems with the installation.

Some installers may not be familiar with the make.

Thanks davebro3, I've had three quotes and no mention of a Navien. We need to make a decision and get something moving as quickly as possible so it will almost certainly be the Worcester or the Vaillant.

I had a Worcester for 20 odd years with virtually no maintenance or repairs so I wouldn't go against them.

PS. A friend had a Vaillant in his new property but had problems with it & eventually replaced it with a Baxi. just sayin'

Thanks again davebro, all food for thought.
