Quite a challenging numerical.

The first stage was odd: I felt it relied on an intuitive 'feel' for the numbers rather than the standard logical route to fix all the individual values. This, for me, was the part that required the most thought.

Grid completion was fairly straightforward once I'd thought about a strategy to apply on my calculator.

The final part required some thought but you know when you have the correct answer!

Many thanks, Miles. A good one.

Yes, I too failed to find the logical path. I have a "life's too short" alarm that goes off in my head, at which point I reverted to programming skills to crack it. I even got Chat-GPT to write some of the routines for me, which was fun in a perverse sort of way.

I'd like to critique the puzzle, but I don't really feel qualified to do so now. I enjoyed the challenge, thanks Miles, but it wasn't really the one that you set.
A different and interesting challenge. The letter/number assignments fell out quite easily then a nice bit of algebra and that was it. No programming or AI required just excel for me. Thanks Miles.
I had to use a spreadsheet so kudos to anyone who completed this with just a calculator.

Thought it would be slow going but it fell into place quickly, helped by my guessing the unique property at the outset.

The final step was amusing.

Thanks Miles for a challenging and unusual Numerical.
