My nose needs cauterizing again. I've had it done several times, in and out of the door within 15 minutes.
Doctor has a look, squirts some numbing spray up, lights a taper, sticks it up my nose for a few seconds and off I go.

Thought I'd go private and made enquiries. Yes, I do realise I'm paying for the knowledge, experience and expertise

Have a guess. A gold star to the closest

About £250
In your situation barry......I would go private......I wouldn't hesitate.
Sorry......I didn't answer your question.
£150 and well worth it.
You're not only paying for a few minutes of the doctor's time. You're paying for a lifetime of experience.
I'd say about 700 guineas.
Sorry barry, I have missed the point of your post.....LOL
Yes nearer douglas for the gold star.
Well I was shocked at the cost of a simple mole removal - £200 for the consultation + £600 for the op (local anaesthetic/20 mins) + biopsy fee. Robbery!
Question Author
Spot on, Douglas! Have a gold star and a pat on the back
No doubt you'll be paying through the nose...
And to remove an ingrowing toenail - £400 & that's not even a doctor!
Question Author
sandyRoe, I had already mentioned I was paying for the expertise and training.

I was expecting £150.

Dave, did you try tying cotton around the base of the mole?
I'll sport it with pride. :-)
Question Author
Boom boom, ginge!

I glad you got your ingrowing toenail seen to, Dave. If you'd ignored it you wouldn't have been able to get your hat on
These were quotes I had - didn't say I paid up. Mole (a basal cell carcinoma) removed by the NHS (eventually - after jumping through the usual hoops). Toenail I fixed myself.
Question Author
Must have been painful jumping with that toenail.

Sqad, how much will you do it for? Mate's rate and AB discount
£550. He’s a pensioner . :-)
£300
Question Author
Good point, Anne. So am I and I also want the OAP discount.
Naaah! barry I have made a good life out of the Principles and Practice of Surgery...............I'll do it it nothing.
