Be careful what you wish for.
think about the average ABer as PM
uggh
no Latin for a start - qualis artifex pereo ! etc
I'd prefer Sunak, on the whole. Or Starmer. Just somebody honest.
Starmer honest? Oh it’s good to end the day with a laugh. :o)
Of course Starmer is honest, naomi. His dad was a toolmaker you know ( and he certainly made one with Keir ).
:o)
At the last election, the country had the choice between a 'terrorist' supporting fantasist and a proven liar with the morals of an alley cat. We voted for the latter. We got the PM we deserved.
Cummings was a rat in rat's clothing, Boris has faced enormous challenges since taking office, more than most PM's. I still would vote for them.

Emmie, I’d vote for them too as I said in my OP , the alternative is madness but I’m now of the opinion that the party needs a new leader, Boris can’t go on supporting people like Cummings and Paterson till they themselves resign ,
i think it would be crazy to change leaders now, we are still in a pandemic and i do agree about Cummings and Paterson, they have sullied the party's name....
Thatcher, Blair, Cameron, May.......Boris.

There's the problem, right there, you think he's your mate and you're on first name terms with him.

Well that and his lying, laziness, infidelity and general buffoonery.

And please, please stow the usual dross about Corbyn in any replies.

Thank you.
Question Author
I couldn’t stand Thatcher ( bordered on hatred) I trusted Blair and voted for him then realised he was a sleazbag so I turned to Cameron who cut and run when the going got tough, poor Teresa was too weak for the job and I’ll refrain for my analysis of Jeremy
The thing is douglas they were the choices we were given, Boris or Corbyn and the latter to me and many others was a no go.
Douglas, my description of Corbyn is not my own personal opinion. It is the default opinion of (it would seem) the majority of ABers. Just thought i'd pre-empt any such retorts.
My description of Johnson, however, cannot be refuted.
Emmie, 'facing' does not mean the same as 'successfully dealing with'.
You can't talk about the last election and Johnson winning without talking about Corbyn. It was inevitable the Tories were going to win the GE in 2019, but by such a large margin was more to do with Corbyn than it was Johnson.

It's more likely than not that unless there's a new Tory leader by the next GE, that I probably won't bother voting - it will be the first time I've never voted in a GE; It appears to me Johnson has abandoned all that I consider makes a Conservative.

@08.01.So Corbyn didnt meet any IRA scum at the HoP shortly after the Brighton bombing then, doug? He wasnt a leading member of the Troops out Movement (which was just an IRA terrorist offshoot)was he?Get real Corbyn is and was always a terrorist apologist and fellow-traveller.
DD, i m not so sure it was all about Corbyn, Boris was riding high on the Brexit bandwagon, and got us with help over the line.
There are good tories.... but just about all of them were purged by Johnson...

The 2019 election as others have said had little/no alternative.... but there WERE good alternatives in the tory leadership election of that year and the party chose Johnson... they are responsible and no amount of meandering or excuses will change it.

We are where we are because of the tory party.
so what's your alternative... and what do you mean where we are?
I blame Have I Got News For You :D

Boris is totally unaware, he drifts through life in blissful ignorance of any situation - as demonstrated when he sat in a very tight row of people next to Sir David Attenborough and was the only one not wearing a mask.
