Does it need cooking, like porridge, or can it be eaten with cold milk?

Just add milk. Some muesli is lovely but some are awful.
Never known anyone cook it. But I suspect the instructions are on the box/bag.
No cooking needed. can be eaten cold
My Mrs soaks it overnight in the fridge. This makes it easier to eat.
Just add cold milk Sandy - I let mine stand for about 10 mins and let it absorb some of the milk.
(Lidl's fruit and nut one is my favourite).
It's quite nice with apple juice instead of milk and yoghurt - and banana !
Been a while since I've had any but I used to like Dorset Cereals 'luscious berry & cherry muesli'. No nuts... bliss.
Do what the inventors (the Swiss) do....add some chopped apple and the cold milk and leave overnight in fridge. Drizzle with runny honey in the morning.
And I agree that Lidl's muesli is excellent and very good value, too.

Thank you all. I'll soak some in milk tonight and hopefully enjoy a hearty breakfast in the morning.
Make sure that you shut the fridge, your current employers might help themselves to a little snack.
Muesli is often endearingly called the healthy sibling of granola. Muesli tends to be a bit drier and, thus, is typically eaten as a breakfast cereal. It can be eaten cold with any sort of milk or yogurt or it can be cooked hot like oatmeal.
I used to eat muesli with plain Greek style yogurt and add seeds.
