I am a bit conflicted on this.
A film about street gangs and postcode turf wars could be informative, and broadcast the futility and pointlessness of it all. I think that was the aim of the film (it was inspired by a YouTube series). I don’t know if this film’s message is successful or not. But it seems that the subject matter alone is enough to bring out these petty gangsters to the cinema where they are are encountering their enemies and the result is violence.
I am wary of banning a film or restricting its showing just because it is a subject matter I do not like.
Sadly, extra security and let the film play is about the best course.

It isn’t clear from the reports whether any body actually watched the film. The violence is outside. Is that pre-show or after?
If the violence is a result of what they have witnessed on screen then that is worrying. But it sounds as though gang members are turning up pre-armed with weapons before seeing the film. Sadly rap culture has violence in its veins, and perhaps it is impossible to portray the genre without spreading the violence.

Vue say they had 24 incidents at different cinemas within a day of it opening. Regardless of censorship questions, I think they have a right to protect their property and staff. (It isn't clear from the wording whether the violence was actually inside the cinemas.)

I would assume the message of the film is anti gang violence.
Unfortunately most of the people already into that kind of thing will probably miss that message and it will simply serve to glamorise the subject in their eyes.
I think each cinema\chain has to make their own decision on whether to show it or not, and this might depend on things like location. They have a duty to protect both customers and staff.
