Why should Trump and his foibles, statements, dress sense, and anything else be immune to a bit of comedy bashing? Every other president, along with kings, queens and politicians have put up with it over the centuries. He's no different. See the cartoons of 17thc satirist James Gilray....he would've had a field day with Trump....

This is because if happens to be Trump and all the "bashers" are using this to further humiliate him.
Blindness due to retinal damage by looking at the sun is rare ( I suppose because very few people do it and clinical trial have difficulty in getting volunteers ;-0)and before there was enough exposure to cause damage, the pain which predates the damage would illicit an immediate response from the person to look away.
But good story if you ar hooked on anything that belittles Trump.

The Gilkes here is also the one who described retinal haemorrhages in shaken babies (Lancet 1962) - and from whom I bought er thro Christies, his first edition Gray's Anatomy. He is also descended from a doctor-VC during the Great War - but not Chavasse.
