A gentler test than last week, that's for sure. The penny dropped with most of the right hand side of the grid filled - a nice treatment of a familiar theme.

Certainly far easier than last week which hopefully will help and encourage newbies and beginners. I found the right hand side far easier than the left. Many thanks to Aedites.
Indeed this was something of a relief after last week's struggle. The theme became apparent quite early on, and right away I was convinced I knew what shape the highlighting would take. I was quite wrong, of course. Thanks Aedites, I enjoyed that.
Entertaining. We filled most of the lower half of the grid very quickly. Now back to last week's challenge, having been away. (Cruciverbal pedantry: Is the "a" in 8 Down disapproved?)

IainGrace, not to give too much away, but I think that it's quite the opposite - the 'a' is absolutely necessary!
Just about into the Friday club for once. Nice enough but slightly underwhelmed. I too thought 8dn had a letter too many
Enjoyed this. Good construction but some of the down clues were too easy for a listener.
I agree with Aloysius535; some of the down clues were, indeed, very simple. This was balanced by a handful of other clues being quite devious.

I enjoyed this puzzle so thanks, Aedites.
I think I might have a try at this one then.
Having dug a DVD out to watch on Thursday, I was convinced serendipity had blessed me - and was obsessed with finding "Fourscore" in the end grid. Sometimes on makes one's own difficulties. Not many not of my own making.
Nice and easy - just right for an hour or so on a damp Saturday afternoon.

Some nice clues and an elegant highlighting - thanks Aedites
Impressive composition.
Some hard clues, but the dearth of unches engendered an easy final spurt.
Not especially innovative, but a fine example of the type, with many excellent clues. Thanks Aedites!
This week's Inquisitor is a more interesting and tougher challenge.
......even after you have cracked the theme.
Perhaps the title was too helpful
Rare for me to finish a Listener within a day.

Looked at it on the bus to work and guessed the speech straight away. Even with a fair idea of the replacement letters in the first few clues, I couldn't immediately solve them, but soon found some much easier clues and made good progress.

Continued on the bus home and finished it off after dinner, though I haven't fully worked out one or two clues (which is always a worry!)

Liked the highlighting - not quite the shape I expected, but as it started off the same it wasn't hard to spot.

While I can see that many would find this too easy, there were some tricky clues and unfamiliar words along the way.
Fun; I actually enjoyed this more than last week's Sabre, despite it's relative ease. A first for me - managed to guess theme and highlighting before starting the clues, missing only the same part as Scree. Thanks Aedites.
Enjoyable. I don't want to sound petulant, but it might have been nice to explore this theme at a deeper level? I enjoyed the solve but just felt there was something missing.
