few miles south of Edinburgh Smow.....

more on the way we are told :0(
Strongest winds that I have experienced here in West Yorkshire, kept me awake all night and still pretty strong at the moment.
Just checked local news, a lot of roads blocked by fallen trees and one bungalow destroyed by a tree falling on it.

think there are trees down just up the road..a few TV masts down and tiles missing from neighbours' roof
Glad you are ok Minty.

I'm not far from Minty and all I've had is a plant pot blown to my door and a garden stake implanted in my lawn.

Stay safe x
Certainly windy here in Norfolk at the moment, hope it's calmed down round Edinburgh, family up there.
The whole of central Scotland is currently going at a snails pace because some half-witted lorry driver ignored the signs on the Forth Road Bridge and the truck got blown over, closing the bridge completely.
I was going to say "bright and breezy, but not too bad" for Northants - but I've just seen a (quite solidly built) young woman blown off her feet and into next door's hedge :={}

She was on the phone at the time, and the person on the other end got treated (as did I) to quite some colourful language involving what she'd do to the stupid blankers who allowed blanking, clanking wind like this to blanking happen ...
very gallant of you to describe gness as a young woman sunny-d
Doesn't seem too bad in my part of Northants. I shall be going to the shop shortly so will report back...
Blimey ael - I think anyone describing gness as "quite solidly built" would be flying over the hedge without any need for wind ...
my finger did hover over the 'enter' key, i spose i'm in a spot of bother now
I can confirm it's windy in Northants. Walking back from the shop a re-cycling box tried to kill me....
Oh, Ael....a bit of bother?....You silly.....don't worry.....of course you're not in a bit of bother, my love.....Awww....now...come and sit here beside me....nice and close..........☻
Quite breezy here in Leicestershire but nothing like you have your way .
