bothof those articles were a bit wordy, but from what i can understand, it's from players buying add-ons within the game, and corporte sponsors who pay nintendo to have extra pokemon at their place (for exmple a cafe, and people will go there to catch a pokemon and perhaps have a sanswich too)?
This seems to have absolutely exploded onto the scene, it's not just kids - my daughter (30 in November) is doing it daily in London, has met up with a whole group of like-minded who do the same. It's really bizarre. We have even had a security notice at work in case any of our sites become a location.
I'm playing Pokemon go, but am so bad at catching them that I run out of balls all the time and I'm have to trot to various spots in the village to replenish them . Luckily it's a small village. Pokemon go into a Pokedex and one is supposed to find a gym where they can fight other Pokemon, but mine are not going anywhere to fight anyone, too much of that nonsense in real life. One can buy poke balls and some master ones which catch every thing, but my pension does not run to pokeballs!
Several nights ago, when walking my dog in the park,I noticed that everyone had their mobiles out. Same the next evening. Then a fellow dogwalker mentioned it was all to do with pokemon. They looked like zombies...totally fixated on their phones. Quite bizarre.
I had to Google it to find out what if was all about.
