She was invited to join the leave campaign but declined.

so hardly "changing sides" then!
Yep, a stunt, just like the Field Marshall the other day.

I don't think many Muslims would want to leave the EU because the ties with their Islamic connections in the rest of Europe they want strengthened, leaving would weaken that link.
//She said she realised she could no longer support Leave when she saw UKIP's "breaking point" anti-EU poster.//

If a poster has such a profound effect on a politician, she clearly isn't fit to be in politics.
What's odd about her position, and I think the main thing worthy of debate, is that she seems to be making it based on personalities.

i.e. in principle she is for Brexit.

But in practice, given the people who are actually backing Brexit, she is going to vote to Remain.

So she is voting against her principles, on a once-every-40-years issue, based on personalities. Not a conviction politician then ...
I do not believe her for one minute.

Whilst the UKIP poster was terrible, it should not be enough to sway a genuine brexiter to vote the other way. Her support for leave was false in the first place, and confirms her status as a wishy washy politician.
She's switched her support. No one is claiming that she was a prominent member, or even a member, of the leave campaign.
How can anyone who does not know her, or what she thought before, confidently state that's a stunt?
Sounds a bit like sour grapes to me :-)
> No one is claiming that she was a prominent member, or even a member, of the leave campaign.

Nobody apart from her ...
She is not, to my knowledge, claiming to be part of the leave campaign. Only a supporter. Everyone is assuming that just because she supported them she was part of the campaign. I support remain, but I've nothing to do with their campaign. However, I'm not a high profile politician so if I was to change sides no one would care :-)
I was wrong: everyone is claiming she was part of their campaign, apart from her.
If I was them I'd keep quiet about it :-)
Dave was keeping her 'up his sleeve' for use in an emergency. (and boy, did he have one after last night's debacle)
Trouble is, Baldrick had better cunning plans than Dave.
I don't think Baroness Warsi and 'Dave' are that close any more.
I met her once as a matter of fact, during the Tory party conference (NOT at it I hasten to add) and asked her why she wasn't there. Her look said a lot :-)
Very nice lady actually. To nice for Brexit, which I suspect is the subtext of a lot of the comments (!)
//I met her once as a matter of fact, during the Tory party conference (NOT at it I hasten to add) and asked her why she wasn't there. Her look said a lot //

So she's two-faced.
I mention on an earlier thread about the existence of sleepers ... Warsi is the most obvious one.

From one minor pro leave twitter feed to feverish activity when she decided to *cough* change sides.
it was not long after the controversy about 'extremism' and Gaza and she had resigned on principle. Said she could cause more mischief elsewhere :-)
Hanging is too good for these traitors, I tell you
Don't drink the wine it's like vinegar :-)
I fail to see what is racist or wrong with the UKIP poster, it is an actual photo of the thousands of young men entering the EU from a country which was not a war zone in order to better themselves - I don't blame them, but the flow is endless and they cannot all be accommodated.
The poster says 'Breaking Point' (double entendre) 'The EU has failed us and we must control our borders' - Where's the racism?
//She is not, to my knowledge, claiming to be part of the leave campaign. Only a supporter.//

That's irrelevant. The point is she was going to vote 'Out' and now, because of a poster - allegedly - she is going to vote 'In'.
Revolting woman.
I think that the vote , when it comes will have swung in favour of the remain camp .

I can feel it in my water

The momentum just feels to have swung away from the Brexiters and towards the remainers

Farage has not done the brexiters any favours , over the last few days
