was a doddle !

Apparently there was a tip on the Chris Evans Breakfast show and it was to use an ironing board.

Having dreaded the amount I had to wrap and had it down to 2 a day to wrap I was keen to try anything which would save me from a dead leg.

I duly set the inong board at the lowest, all good, put the sellotape , scissors on the ironing plate and got started.

I swear I had wrapped well over 30 gifts, whilst watching the tele , without a dead leg and a broken back before I knew it.

I'm now way ahead of myself :)

Genius tip. Believe me !

How would you get a dead leg?
Actually don't have an ironing board
yeah a fren demanded going to the shops for chrissie paper
and I said

what is wrong with newspaper ?
Gift bags, stapler - done in minutes!

I get a dead leg sitting in the same position on the floor for hours...clearly unique.

Actually this doesn't apply to you then Daisy, so why bother replying when someone is only trying to be helpful and friendly ?
Love wrapping gifts, Dahlia......sometimes use magazines or newspaper with subjects that will reflect the recipient....but always lots of black ribbon...bells....little fairies.....anything to bling it up...

I now use sticky circles...me and sellotape argue....x
Peter, out of date

Not the most user friendly site i've joined I have to say.
That's okay, I like a challenge.

Gness, that sounds delightful. I'm always looking for other ideas.Half the fun is in the presentation.

Mamyalynne, you have it down to a fine art, i'm just hopeless.
To be honest I enjoy the wrapping as much as choosing a present.... a quiz sheet from a newspaper keeps a quizzer occupied for ages before they open the gift....

It's a friendly site on the whole....one or two grumpies will appear but pick and choose .......and smile......☺
Do you iron the paper???
I once spent fours hours wrapping on Xmas eve.

I spent Xmas day saying A hip hop hippie to the hippie the hip hip a hop and you don't stop.

I'll get me coat

Excellent idea, wish i'd thought of that (or posted beforehand) before I did my usual, strips of sellotape randomly placed and making a 'v' shaped wrap into a 'v' and not a huge crush :)

I'll smile Gness but thank you, I cruise a few sites for fun, usually in the early hours when I can't sleep and I like this one, it has character, some don't !

I think I need to by the time i'm finished at times Sharon ! Especially when I have a huge piece cut for a large present and it's miles short !!
It does have character.....and some characters...... ;-)

When the mother brought her child to school and said.....he/she's quite a character you know......we knew we were in for a tough ride.....☺

Best wrap all night Panky....:)
Question Author
I look forward to meeting the characters. I'm sure that they will be 'sussing' out new people just the same as new people are 'sussing' out regulars. Happens everywhere, you just have to go with the flow and not be either intimidated or put off.
I'm neither, I know the new person scenario although it's been years for me.
I don't mind grumpies as sometimes I feel like I need a good on-line grump at times myself ;)
If you're ever at a loose end, Dahlia....Psybs and I sit in the shrubbery in Kent and stalk Baldric.....you're welcome to join us......and if Shoota offers to show you his gun....it really is a gun......☺
Question Author
I'll look out for your suspects Gness....in fact I think I really should look out for your suspects ;)
Ah dear gness, out on day release again.....
