37 Answers
It hasn't taken long for it to strike. I fell asleep on the sofa just after midnight and woke up about half an hour later. My brand new glasses which I had had in my possession for just over 8 hours (£279 if you want to know) had gone AWOL from my face. I found I had been laid on them and they are now mangled grrr

One of the Junior Overalls once broke a pair of his/her brand new specs. I went to the opticians, made a full and frank confession, and I expected to be charged for a replacement pair. To my surprise they said they would write them off as a manufacturing fault and supply a free replacement pair.
I don't know if a chain opticians would do this - I use a local opticians as I am a great believer in supporting local businesses

MrsO - All three of my kids wore glasses and I was forever in SpecSavers getting them fixed. They never charged me. The NHS used to allow 3 pairs a year for young children but again, I was never charged if they went over that.
It's very hard to explain to a child under two to not leave their glasses on the floor.
