my knee doesn't hurt when I change gear. How odd is that?

My left knee was causing me a lot of trouble and now it's fine.

Hey two birds with one stone then, Yilly.
Question Author
definitely, Yont. Well worth the money. Odd though, don't you think?
Referred pain. Or maybe you can now place your foot at a different angle on the pedal?
Yes it does seem odd. Maybe sqad will know what the connection is.
I think that 237SJ may have the answer, not the referred pain , but the angle of your knee which has changed.
Question Author

I'm not aware of doing anything differently but obviously, I am.

What is referred pain, please, Sqad?
Question Author
Thanks for the anatomy lesson, Sibs. x
Referred pain is pain felt at a distance away from the diseased part...e.g.pain in the knee may be coming from a disease of the hip, pain in the jaw or arm may be coming from the heart, pain in the ear may be coming from the throat........get it?
Question Author
Got it. Thank you.
Explanation here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Referred_pain The first time I ever heard of referred pain was when I was lodging with an ex nurse. She had been with a road traffic accident patient and there were a few doctors in attendance. The patient kept sweeping his hand past his ear and nobody could understand why. My flatmate reckoned that he had referred pain from his spleen. Sure enough, when he was operated on his spleen was damaged.
When I had a bad back I also got pain in my goolies:-(

Sciatica, Tilly?
Question Author
I do hope so, Yont. Well deserved too.

Anyhow, 237. That was interesting, about the ear and the spleen. I wonder if there is some kind of map which shows where referred pain might emanate?
I will not make any comment about that, Tony ;-)
