Possibly they did have suspicions but even then you don't need a conspiracy theory to explain their previous silence. People tend to find it very difficult to accept that those they love might be up to no good. It isn't easy to say something as doing so can feel like a betrayal.

TWR. I agree with all your suspicions. The one thing I disagree with is that I think they are very poor actors. The whole thing looked very false to me. If I'm wrong, I'll wholeheartedly apologise.

So what exactly are you saying? The husbands knew and supported their wives taking their children to Syria ? Why then would they beg for them to come back on TV? Or are you saying the Husbands are false because they knew/didn't know what their wives were doing but want them to stay out three and are privately supporting them? I cannot find one reason they would go on TV and beg them to come back other than they are worried for them and want them to come home.
