EO
oh sorry, don't know that one.
Eo
What is Eo please?
A mid 18th C gambling game according to Chambers - not easy to find on-line.
a gambling game of the mid 18th century, whose outcome depended on a ball falling into slots marked "E" or "O" (evens and odds?)
Found it - ‘Even and Odd’, known as E.O. - so an abbreviation really.

Thanks.
Features a lot in Georgette Heyer's books and Jane Austen
Beau Nash brought E.O. to Bath and had the Assembly Rooms pay him 20 percent of their income from the game initially,
Always good to learn.
