Was it down to speed?

I suppose it's difficult on a busy motorway. You're not sure if the brake lights ahead means someone is slamming them on or just adjusting their speed. Once you realise they are being slammed on you might not be able to change lanes.

As long as I know they are still there Wolf I am not bothered, but It's a struggle with this weather trying to find them within my long Johns, 2 pairs of " Y.FRONTS" these women don't know what us old farts has to put up with.
this seems to have drifted off-topic -

on the M1, the victims were stationary on the hard shoulder. the bus crashed into the back of it. clearly there's an issue to answer with that, the bus should not have been on the hard shoulder, so of course the driver was arrested, until the issue is sorted.
Was it the leaning that caused the problem?
That was my understanding, mushroom - but OH says that part of the motorway doesn't actually have a hard shoulder 24 hours a day, so the driver might actually have (unfortunately) broken down in a really dangerous place which the bus driver couldn't have anticipated.
// I don't half soil her//

a picture no artist could paint..
//that part of the motorway doesn't actually have a hard shoulder 24 hours a day,//

yep, it's a "smart" motorway. but when the shoulder is being used for main line running, the overhead gantries clearly mark it as such; plus the control room operatives specifically monitor for breakdowns so that the lane can be electronically closed off.
but what if the breakdown is in-between gantries how do they warn traffic then ??
i should add when traffic has passed the last gantries and the cars have broken down on the "missing hard shoulder
// TWR - do you want them to lean to the left or to the right? //

wolf naught boy grrrrr

they dont lean but they should swerve ....
