I'm about 45-50 miles Nth of Glasgow. Been to Ayr races couple of times. Ayr Gold Cup meeting is 18th - 20th September, but I wont be there. Thinking of heading up North for a few days that week. Are you going to the Gold Cup this year ?
I lived near Ayr for a while.

I remember it was a tad windy.
I lived in Ayr for a couple of years, and then another few just south of there. Loved it.

And very windy. And rainy.

yes, but only go on Thursday as it's too crowded on Friday and Saturday. Just looking forward to wandering around Ayr
Good for windsurfing, though how they don't get hypothermia I don't know.
I have an etching entitled 'Crianlarich'.
Was windy up this neck of the woods today Hopkirk. Went for a walk up Conic Hill at Balmaha this afternoon and the wind was very strong at such a relatively small height

Sorry missed Hopkirk and 2sp. It'll be just like home then, windy and wet bur we've always had lovely weather
Take your wellies, sibs. xx
If I may join in? Years ago went on an air experience flight with a bunch of air cadets out of Brize Norton. Flew in a Hercules to Ayr Racecourse and back. So seen Ayr from the air.
My Sister lives in Germany sibs and she is coming over for a week in September. Hoping to get the use of my aunts cottage for a few days. Looking forward to a quiet few days away with her (hope the weather is kind) !!
can you post a picture of it shoota ?
Ayr, a funny name for a town ? but Scotland is full of funny named towns :)
It is 'filed' somewhere sam, but it is not actually of Crianlarich, it is a lonely windblown tree on a craggy hillside.....
Very moody.
we have our fair share anne of weird sounding places !!
PLEASE. don't ask shoota to show us his etchings !!!!!
want to see mine, anne?

Grass that must have been amazing. A couple of years ago we were chatting to a bloke in the Wellington bar, next day we saw he was looking after Princess Anne. She was tiny but had willies on
DT, I believe you post your etchings for all to view.
Crainlarich is a beautiful little village shoota, got a couple of pubs but not a lot else. You get beautiful views of Ben More and Stob Binnein if you come into it from the Callander side
