I've totally lost the plot with this .
Two answers left and can't see the wood for the trees.

D?E? .I initially thought this was Goat ,but it doesn't fit with the crossing clues .Grrr.
I may have entered some of the other answers in the wrong place bearing in mind eight of the clues have definitions that refer to another clue .
