fund?
fend, definitely.
Or Feed?
dictionary definition - look after and provide for oneself, without any help from others.
Fend is okay although I thought that was just providing for oneself

Question doesn't mention a third-party

Many thanks think I will toss a coin between fend and feed ahaha
Thanks FF (nice initials!)- I thought the definition wasn't quite narrow enough but I can't find a better answer
f-f - I think the clue lies in the (for) after "provide". The verb "fend" is always used with "for" after it.
Salutations unto you, and Happy Easter.
