Brilliant puzzle!
Can some kind person explain the wordplay to the following, I'm pretty sure I've answered them correctly.
33 across: Hardly ever loot Australian church? (6) Scarce?
35 across: Capture nearly hollow ornament (7) Netsuke?
8 down: Old refrain at first from attacking jester with note for king (8) Faburden?
Sorry to be so thick, but I always seem to have trouble with wordplay.
Thanks in advance

33a Australian word for loot cash (O)scar + ce - church, with O as the additional letter.
35a Capture=Net + su(n)ke(n) = nearly hollow, N as the additional letter.
33 A. I couldn't parse this one.
35 Net is capture, suke is almost/nearly 'sunken'. That's the best I came up with!
8 D.' Fa' is note - maybe it was 'ra' for king? Sorry, that's all I could see.
8d First from=F
A= attacked
Jester=B(o)URDER with N(ote) for king=R - BURDEN
