Have completed this but dont get the wordplay in 2 of them viz 5Down (8) Possibly St James's priest secure? It finished C?U?L?N? for which coupling is the only word I can find to fit in and 51Downb (5) Do not put up with one's cheek for a start it is either tonic or tunic neither of which makes sense to me. Thank you for that - do you have any thoughts on 5 Down?
only thing I am thinking is that the secure part of the clue could be land but can't parse it with priest
5d) CLUBLAND - is what i have

St James in London is referred to as Clubland https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_James%27s

and secure is synonymous with land

but I am also stuck on priest = club
5d clubland - area around St james
priest = club
land = secure

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/clubland
aha - just found http://www.tfd.com/priest

priest: a small club used to kill fish caught
