My answer is Salinas
21 D. A novice getting upset about hard sauteed dish (6) ?h?ona
My answer is Bhoona (noob+a+h/hard)
The second letter of 27 A is the third of 21 D. Can anyone help me sort this? Thanks.

where did you find noob?
Question Author
Noob is listed, under 'novice' in Bradford's.
noob (slang for beginner, novice, short form of newbie, Chambers)
Hi, NEVERACROSSWORD. Your Down solutions are definitely right. Occasionally with Beelzebub you have to have a copy of the prize on your shelf. It contains the portmanteau word SOLUNAR "relating to the combined influence or conjunction of the sun and the moon". That's what I'll be submitting, even though I've no idea of the wordplay. It's a pain if your main dictionary searcher (Chambers), and even, in my case, both my backup searchers don't give you the word you are looking for.

Thanks, turast - I managed to get there, in the end. I think the 'like sand' refers to (g)ranulos(e), and 'bowled over' means to reverse it, solunar.
I suppose 'at heart' meant the main part of 'granulose'.
