?L???O?P?R. Only word that fits is clodhopper, why? where does it fit the clue?
Where do Monet and Edward come in?

Factor has it ' Claude and Hopper
Claude Monet was an artist. Clod sounds like (say) Claude

Edward Hopper was also an artist

Factor I thanked you on other thread, never would have got it myself.
Monet is Claude Monet and Claude said with a certain affectation becomes clod.
Hopper, I presume relates to Edward Hopper but not many people know that.
It's somewhat contrived.
