Havnt participated but have been reading Jordy's posts. Also read, in the past, other posts of a similar ilk... AB cliques etc.
The way I see it is that AB has a relatively small user base (compared to other similar sites) with a hardcore base of frequent users. The users of this site represent all spectrums...

Young and old
Atheists and believers
Lefties and righties
Pro & anti (whatever)
Brexeters and remainers
Professionals and non-professionals
The sane and the not so sane
etc etc

Is it not to be expected then, that not everyone here will agree with everyone else on every subject?
Ive received some unbelievable support from people on here that I otherwise disagree with on almost everything.
I have been (on reflection) unbelievably rude to some posters here at times, to the same people that have given me support and advice in the past....Im sorry to say.
But the converse has been equally true as well.
Maybe we should all just 'suck it up buttercup' and except that is the nature of communicating through a computer (was going to type pooter but that would upset Jordy...)
I find it a bit juvenile to keep a 'nice' book on people that you don't even know. Theres folk on here that I have vehemently disagreed with but no doubt my experience of the actual person would be different if I were to meet them over a pint.

as I recall, the Ed once said the site usership was heavily tilted to the elderly, which is easy enough to detect. Old people sit at home with their computers. Younger ABers, however, tend to display far more knowledge and common sense.

It used to be politically fairly evenly balanced; now it isn't. Believers have always been heavily (and noisily) outweighed.

Crosswords is still the most helpful section.

In the great scheme of things, doesn't bother me that much. If someone on a keyboard desires that ILLUSION that they have some power over you then that is their problem, not yours.

Let’s face it, AB is just a discussion group. Actual answers given must number what, 10%, if that?
89% of the questions asked could very easily be answered via a 5 second Google search, the remaining 1% are genuinely answered but 0.5 of those invariably don’t receive recognition that the answer was indeed correct.
Bar crossword/puzzle answers that get replicated, duplicated and triplicated it’s just a sounding board.
Just my humble observations.....
