Q.3 - If by R.L. Stevenson, you are referring to Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson, author of Treasure Island, he had no children.  He wasn't born until 1850, entered law school in 1867 and married a lady 11 years older than himself in about 1878.

Q.4 - Galusha Pennypacker, 97th Pennsylvania, was promoted Brevet-Major General 1 month before his 21st birthday in 1865.  He was also the holder of the Congressional Medal of Honor.  There is no record, including samples of his autograph, of a 'second' or middle name...
