my sister in law has been ill with a stomach bug all christmas and after ending up in hospital found out she was 7 weeks pregnant. Because of her pain they had to check baby was in the right place and not miscarrying - all is ok - but because of the stomach bug/pain she has been told she is very high risk and has to take it easy for 6 weeks. What exactly do they mean by high risk?

They obviously mean high risk of a miscarrage due to the complications or problems at this early stage. To take it easy for 6 weeks would bring her pregnancy up to 13 weeks by which time the baby will then have its own heart beat and less the chance of a miscarrage.
