For the 1st time I've had a knockback from AB for using a profanity. I had included the word cr@p in an answer in the context of nonsense or rubbish. According to my dictionary this is an acceptable use of the word, albeit slang, that is certainly not a profanity. What are the most inoffensive or innocuous words that get disallowed on this site ?

The words that are disallowed tend to be the ones that will offend someone, even if it isn't you, or me. Sadly, it would be difficult to post the list here, for pretty obvious reasons ;-)
P.S. In the context of this question it was obviously important that you 'recreate' the offending word with the use of the @ but in general trying to slip profanities into the site is edited out. Thanks.

Hey Einstein. Now we know why you hate "manure" so much. You're a Dirty L***s fan!

hear hear Einstein. and please add 'Dacourt', 'Mandic', 'agent', 'debt', 'bid', 'contract', 'personal terms', 'medical', 'window', 'Bosman' and many more to that list. I'm sick to death of all the transfer talk. Can't all the teams just come out at 3 pm on the first saturday of the season and surprise us with who's playing? That would be fun. This has been an unfortunate effect of the transfer window system - all the gossip is concentrated into two short periods and it's boring me to death, even though I'm a huge football fan.

Err, ..... yes, well thanks folks for answering my question. Do I assume that any word connected with soccer will now be disallowed on the grounds of profanity ?

Ban 'kipper'
The word "sensor" - but with a "C" - does not seem to be allowed. I wasn't aware that is was rude...

You're right Squirrel. You can't make a posting containing the word beginning with C and ending with ENSOR. That's mighty strange. Maybe ABed can explain why. Any attempt to use that word results in your poating being deleted and the message that you can't use profanities.

Hello. I don't have a list of 'banned' words to hand but I will get hold of it next week. - AB Editor
