I'm visiting two friends in Glasgow and last time I was there (and very drunk) they tried to teach me some Scottish phrases, all of which have been mysteriously erased from my memory (along with the events of that night).
Can anyone teach me some good phrases to say to them (and translation too please!!!)

Be careful! I remember reading long ago about English pople who were convinced that a Glaswegian was speaking Gaelic phrases for their benefit, but he was really rapidly saying things like "sinkrabootinraweewinger".
Please, please, please don't try this. Everyone in the pub will assume you're taking the P and you could end up "wi a face like a well skept erse"

Its not to speak to others with. It's for my mates who already know me and would have panned my head in with a brick by now if they thought it warranted it. I wouldn't dream of saying it to 'normal' Scottish people. Just my two odd chums!
Ghetti faa ya bassa!!
Translation - Please refrain from that action, you little toerag.
A wee totty bit -when wanting a small portion!

I like 'a wee totty bit'. Cute! But I'll probably never use that as I never want just a small portion!
try these.....

"Nae offence doll, but yev got a face like a leper licking a thistle."

and

"Id be in aboot it like a dug wi a burst baw!"

in the wrong company, both of these sayings might get you a 'Burst Mooth'.

hmmm
if one of your friends really needs to pee
try 'sook it up into your neck!'
it's what my great-nan used to say apparently
or 'maybe aye maybe hooch aye'
(pronounced hoo with a sort of h sound at the end meaning maybe yes maybe no)
also [i'm not sure if this is how you spell it]
if you've scunnit yourself of somethin eg food then you've eaten so much of it you don't want to have it again

hope it helps :)
