just googled buckeen and came up with
buckeen (Grose 1811 Dictionary)
buckeen
A bully. Irish.

Definition taken from The 1811 Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue, originally by Francis Grose.

Hi,thanks for that i never even thought to do that!!!doh!!
Not necessarily a bully. It's also an afficionate term for a young boy it implys a "sturdy young buck" ie male. 'een' would be an anglisized form but is added to the end of a word where youth is implied. Not unusual from a doting grandparent.
