Depending on how you write your numbers, the "backwards number alphabet" could go as follows:

' 1 = "L" or "I"
' 3 = "E"
' 8 = "B" maybe
' 9 = "e" or "P"

This doesn't allow for many words. I was thinking of things like: BELL (1138), PEBBLE (38839), BIBLE (31818) or BLEEP (93318). If you count "2" as "S" in a mirror, then you can plural the words and add others like: BLISS (22118) and LIPLESS OR BIBLESS (figure out for yourself). The problem is that these mirror numbers still don't look much like words, especially when the number one has to stand for "I" or "L".
It also very much depends on how you hold the mirror; above the number or on the side.
I know that if you put 01134 in a calculator and turn it upside down, it reads hEllO... but I guess that's not what you are looking for..
770 2219 is a good one, as long as you write the seven as a European seven, with the extra cross on it and the 9 without the curly tail - try it next time when you are asked for your number but don't want to give it out!
That is a great one, SimonC!
not a phone number but what about 58008 in the mirror on a calculator ----- think we all know that one
