Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

About the Battle of Britain pilots he said:

Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

And at the end of the war, when Russia was grabbing all the eastern block land he said:

From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic an iron curtain has descended across the Continent

And both phrases entered the language, the pilots are still called "The Few" and the wall between western and eastern Europe was called the "Iron Curtain"

He did indeed say both those lines, but he wasn't the first person or, indeed, politician to use the term "Iron Curtain" in this context. Ironically, Joseph Goebbels was just one of those to use the term with reference to the Soviet influence.

Interesting site, there, VHGuy. I've bookmarked it.

No! No! No! No! No! No!
