I have two devices connected to my network that I cannot identify, both with a MAC address starting BRW.

Could this be my Brother multi-function printer that is connected by WiFi?  Could the print and scan functions have their own MAC address?

I could turn it off but the flipping thing needs to be reset each time and it's a faff.  Far easier to ask you 😁

I have tried searching both MAC addresses to no avail

I did - no result found

The BRW is a prefix used by Brother printers.

Thanks, Dizmo

As far as having two MAC addresses, there would be one for wireless and one for a wired connection. I take it you don't have it wired to your router as well as being connected wirelessly?

Question Author

No, the printer has never been connected by ethernet

ElmoCut is a handy tool to help keep track of devices on one's network: https://sourceforge.net/projects/elmocut

It supplies the IP and Mac address for each device detected and helps identify the device by detecting the vendor. (Google, NVIDIA, etc.)

To further identify each device, the connection for each IP or Mac address can be selectively killed and unkilled.
