Cut bottom nearly a job for me (3)  D?C.  I can only think of DIC(e) and DOC(k), both being shortened (nearly) versions of words meaning CUT.  But the "nearly" comes after "bottom" not after "Cut", and I can't see where "a job for me" comes in.  Presumably, "me" refers to Tim Moorey the composer/setter?

Doc(tor)...?

Sorry,I meant that a cut bottom would be a job for a doc(tor), with your Doc(k) being the 'nearly'.
