Oh yes...foul! I am a mayonnaise eater but himself prefers salad cream...I always reckon that is because his mother brought him up badly ..... she was the one who grilled the sprouts for dinner once!

Salad cream is an abomination - I can hardly believe it still exists. Hellman's mayo is rubbish - tasteless and oily. Waitrose and Sainsbury's are much better.

Hate salad cream so much...i don't think I've ever even bought it.
But mayo...always homemade...is sublime.

Emmie, if you have a stick blender, it's very easy to make. None of that drizzling oil nonsense.

I used to love salad cream and that Heinz Sandwich Spread.

I love mayonnaise too, but only use salad cream for certain things - like egg mayo sarnies (salad cream is much nicer than mayo in grated egg), and also I use it as a binder for grated cheese when we fancy a Welsh Rarebit. Don't know what it is, but Salad cream is much nicer in those two things.
