Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

After weeks of battling I think I may be nearly there. I understand that four of the affected clues are anagrammed to become "stars". Another four seem to have a jumble of the word "star" removed. But what happens to the remaining four?

I have a clue answer (25 down) of LIVING which somehow has to become S_AT_E. I guess STATUE (or SWATHE?). But how and why? If I could understand this one then maybe the others will follow. (I still have not solved 12across, 34across, 7down, 19down and 22down).

Help would be much appreciated!

Not the type of crossword I like at all.

Perhaps "living statue" can almost be thought of as a definition of "star" (in Chambers?) so the grod entry in those four clues would be the second half of a phrase that can define, or be defined by, star.
