Some weeks ago - I had applied posthumously for the Arctic War Medal for my late Dad back in June. I had all but given up hope when one morning back in October I received a small parcel thorough the post - the Arctic Star. He served in the Merchant Navy and survived four convoys. He would have been very proud of his medal as I was on the day I received it. FBG40

I made a necklace recently for a friend. It consisted of two hearts with one of her child's fingerprints in raised relief on each.
The happiness it gave her made me so joyous I could have burst!

Oh how lovely Mojo. I think that everyone on AB knows that mine was the birth of my long awaited great grandchild on christmas eve.Got a picture of her first smile yesterday, it made me cry.

I must admit, my last moment of pure joy was grandchild-initiated.

I had her to stay last weekend. She is 2. And I have made her just as silly as me. We laughed so much at something really silly (trumping or something similar...) - she got hiccups and I snorted. She called me Peppa Pig, so I snorted again and her hiccups lasted half an hour.
