Vietnam veteran term In from the storm

In from the storm is a Jimi Hendrix song. I think it refers to the Vietnam war. Is there anywhere that documents the Vietnam veteran term in from the storm. I cant find anywhere that documents the term as used by a veteran - although I am sure I read somewhere that it was.

There's a Dylan song called Shelter From the Storm. But the phrase wasn't invented for the Vietnam war; you can find it in the Bible - Psalm 55:*8 - for instance.
