Paul Wiffen has resigned - he launced an on-line attack on Muslims, Romanian Gypsies and African and Caribbean communities.

No biggie for a You Kipper you'd think but he referred to the queen as a "German b1tch" He was suspended but then readmitted after appologising - now he's resigned over it.

Should he have been reinstated? or is his resignation an admission that reinstatement after such an admission was a grave error of judgement on the part of UKIP's leadership?

jake, ABers will surely sympathise with anyone who loses it on 'late-night internet sessions'

There is a certain consistency in pointing to the queen's racial origins (though I wonder what his own are); but perhaps a slight lack of political nous.
Yet another link taken from the hated Daily Mail, but only when the report meets the poster's particular agenda.

The word hypocrite springs to mind.
aog, jake may just be having a wee smile at those who over-rely on one news source; but you can click on my BBC link if you prefer.
>he launced an on-line attack on Romanian Gypsies

Mind you I am not sure anyone could have anything positive to say about Romanian Gypsies.

Just another example of the sort of people that can come here now we are in the EU (and we cant stop them coming).

We had some Romanian Gypsy types (3 women) walking down our High Street a few days ago.

They came across a shoe repair shop with a charity box outside for people to place unwanted shoes, and the proceeded to take all the shoes OUT the box and put them in their own bags then walk off.

More examples of the scum that can now come here thanks to the EU.
And before anyone says "how do you know they are Romanian gypsies", well I dont.

But the 3 women looked like this so they certainly were not locals (or probably even from the UK)

Yes AOG it's called Irony

I couldn't resist quoting the Mail

Reporting someone who's racist abuse include the queen must have been the most dreadful dilemma for them!

Still the original question stands.

Was it an error of judgement to accept his appology?

There seems to be a lot of Errors of Judgement in UKIP don't you think?

Tom Wise MEP charged with £39,000 expenses Fraud

Ashley Mote MEP Convicted of Benefit Fraud

Nigel Farage MEP - Candidate MP in Buckingham - Boasted of claiming £2 million in expenses.

Godfrey Bloom MEP (rent-a-clown) - Numerous Faux-pas' (Are UKIP MEPs allowed Faux Pas?) most recently congratulated French on blowing up the Rainbow Warrior - then said that he'd fogotten they killed someone doing it!

So is Wiffen just a victim of political correctness or was his attack on the Queen unforgivable?
jno

I did click on your BBC link, but the reporting was inferior to the Daily Mail's.

At least the DM report did in fact inform us of the insulting words.

Interesting to note regarding jake's post is the fact that no one has been aggressive towards him for daring to post an almost identical question to sp1814's, further down the list.

Yet if I accidentally do the same ABers can't wait to have a go at me.
aog, I hadn't noticed sp1814's post. And you're right about the BBC; they should have reported what Wiffen said, even if they needed a few asterisks. Still and all, do you have any actual response to either question?

/// Reporting someone who's racist abuse include the queen must have been the most dreadful dilemma for them! ///

They could have chose not to report it, but they did.

Whereas I do not in any way agree with the remarks he made, I also don't condone the insults (that many on this site who are now ready to criticise Paul Wiffen) make regarding the Royal Family, the recent one regarding Camilla's broken leg springs to mind.

/// There seems to be a lot of Errors of Judgement in UKIP don't you think? ///

Maybe, but one could equally do a Google search to find "Errors of Judgement" attached to all the other parties.
Has the Daily Mail reported what he said about Nancy Regan too?

Apparently, that was pretty offensive too.
I'm appalled by these white savages in UKIP making unkind comments about Her Majesty The Queen.

Whilst it's true that all political parties have people who behave less-than-professionally...UKIP seem to have more than it's fair share, when you compare the number of Labour, Liberal and Conservative MPs.

Just googling 'UKIP outburst' is a bit of an eye-opener.
Still no answers regarding the disgusting offensive remarks made about Camilla I see.

Perhaps all those that made offensive remarks regarding her, should now resign from Answer Bank?
To desribe the Queen as being German is akin to describing all the pre-Hanoverian monarchs as being French (all being descended from William I). I think it was George III who, on his accession in 1760, famously declared: 'I glory in the name of Briton'. After all, if, as some would contend, we are all descended from Adam and Eve, then we are alll Jewish.
AOG - can you not see the difference between passing a comment on an anonymous forum and passing a comment when you are trying to be an elected official?
No, he shouldn't have been reinstated. If UKIP want to be considered a serious political party, then they should distance themselves from people with such appallingly juvenile mindsets.

Jake, //Reporting someone who's racist abuse include the queen must have been the most dreadful dilemma for them!//

I'm pretty sure you said that somewhat tongue in cheek Jake, because they will have reported it with great relish. Displaying everyone else's dirty laundry in public suits their political agenda perfectly.
