Not "Britain" ... ... ... just Hartlepool.

Remember that some of us were already French by then, and would have known French when we heard it. Sussex had succed cu m to the Norman Conquest with a less than heroic defence.

Yes, but remember our French were Normans, descended from Norsemen, Vikings, not like their French !
We never burned witches in this country,and the good folks of Hartlepool never hanged a monkey....all myths.
No maybe we didn't burn witches,though we put them to death, but we certainly burned priests who didn't conform with the preferred religious belief of the day.
