no it is up to the driver of the vehicle to make sure they are insured to drive it, with the very tentative exception of vehicles that your company make you drive

well you must not know that desperate times call for desperate measures so i wants to know from all angles, but in a place country where pedo's get a slap on the wrist for unforgivable crimes what chance does a man that made a mistake have. thank you
can you just not accept that the fault lies with whoever ignored the insurance reminder.
check with the insurance company.some companies still give you cover for 14days after it has expired as long as you renew the insurance .thefore allthough the certificate date had run out you may still have been covered.if this is the case the you cant be done for driving without insurance.I once got stopped many years ago and my insurance had run out by 2 days but was still covered for 14 days if i renewed the insurance and i was not done by the police for driving withouy insurance as i was still covered.
I know you're panicking here, and probably with reason - seems a tad unfortunate to say the least?

But - and I mean this kindly, honestly - do you really want to hang about until someone comes on and tells you what you want to hear, even if it's worng? Ethel's given you the black&white on this, has posted links to the regulations and also printed the relevant information. Really sorry but you seem to be in trouble, and no amount of posting will change that. You could try the CAB but they'll give you the info that Ethel did.
