I ran into the back of a car, the car took details and drove off. Later I was pulled over by the police and was found to be over the drink limit.

Several months later the owner from the accident is claiming off my insurance - Is the 2rd part insurance still valid after the drink driving offence?

The insurance company is obliged to pay up, but they can recover the monies from you.
im sorry but I found this really funny
Ethel is spot on - however, not all insurance companies include a clause that means you will have to repay any outlay if you cause an accident whilst under the influence - I find this mind boggling. We refuse, but the previous insurer I worked for would cover this???

Check your policy - there should abe a drink/drugs clause
