Of course it's ok to not like cats. What I personally dislike is the way some people think it's funny to potentially harm them.

I dislike other people's children, but i wouldn't dream of hurting one, nor would I find ways of hurting them funny no matter how much of a joke it was.

We all have boundaries where jokes are concerned- one of mine is animal cruelty, I fail to see any humour in it.

Boo - if you're referring to the 'Is it OK to throw shoes... ?' thread on Animals/Pets - I, including I should think 97% of the other posters, are only jesting. I don't think any of us would actually do the things we've been joking about.

I don't like cats, but would never deliberately hurt one, even though I wish they didn't have such a liking for my garden.
I'd just get someone else to deliberately kill the b****** thing.

Maybe I'm kinda anal about all this <shrug> I dunno, but I personally find jokes animal cruelty very distasteful and will say so, as is my right to do so.

i know 97% of it is seen as humour by many, it's just I don't find them funny at all. Maybe I should do everyone a favour and stay out of these jokey "lets hurt an animal" threads, it would be better for my blood pressure afterall ;-)
