Why would you want to?
Quite, they are lovely creatures and they also get rid of slugs and insects that destroy plants.
exacty, why?...not aware of any damage caused by them, nonturnal so hadly ever see them ,bit noisy when mating other than that i cant see a problem
Again why?....They are widely regarded as the gardeners friend, they are amazing for getting rid of slugs and snails. Fair enough if you were a snail farmer but I doubt that.
send them to me, I'm trying to encourage them into my garden at the moment
I have a hedgehog in my back garden and I was delighted to see it, he (actually its probably a she) is interesting and funny to watch and he has eaten all the slugs of which there were many, so as has been asked before, why?
i want one!
As Krustyman says they are the Gardeners Friend doing no harm but a lot of good. When I was a child we had a vey large garden and we always had Hedgehogs, but very few slugs
I agree with everyone. Hoggies are lovely creatures and do no harm. We have no problems with slugs now that we have our nocternal guests in the garden. :o)
You are very lucky, where I live we haven't seen any hedgehogs for many years, you should be encouraging them not wanting to get rid of them.
Just another one wondering why on earth someone wouldn't want hedgehogs in their gardens.

As for me, well I don't even mind the moles even though I do swear about them sometimes.

If wild animals choose to visit our gardens then we are very, very lucky.
No answer, then? I wonder why this person would want to get rid of a hedgehog? I think you're very lucky to have one, kingchat!!
kingchat you asked the question, we very kindly gave our opinions regardless of whether they were the responses you were hoping for...at least have the decency to explain why you want to get rid of the hedgehogs.
Bless them! When you see the little baby ones scampering about, it's enough to melt anyone's heart - not to want to get rid of them!
We had hedgehogs in the garden up to two years ago but these lovely little creatures that eat the slugs and snails have disapperaed. Send some to me!
wish i had some in my garden
Please don't try to get rid of the hedgehogs in your garden. They'll do no harm, they'll only do good!

I love hedgehogs, I do!
Looks like kingchat's gone outside to hunt for one!!
I'll take the hedgehog off your hands kingchat, i havent seen one in my mums garden for a good couple of years.
I really can't add to the sentiments already said.

They are very cute, harmless and utterly watchable creatures of the night.

However, if you are serious, I would recommend you contact a hedgehog rescue centre who MAY visit you and humanely relocate the hedgehogs where they will be loved and free from harm.

Please whatever you do, do not take "vermin control" in to your own hands. They are not vermin and deserve a decent life.
