I have recently made a new vegetable patch however due to a pesky puppy, I need to find some kind of a border/fence/edge which allows adult humans to step over but prevents cheeky canines from hopping over!
The perimeter of the veg garden is approx 80ft.
Has anyone got any ideas how I could do this cheaply and effectively?
Thanks

Use chicken wire to about 12" tall and fix this in the ground using wooden stakes as when you electrify the fence it wont blow the fuse....
Could you use dog repellent granules?
wont be a puppy long shivvy we made frames out of wood and chicken wire they are about 3 meters long by a foot high and we move them around the garden when we need to keep the helpers out i have three in the green house round the edges as cassie loves to get in the borders and root out the frogs mummys little helper
meant to say we join them together with plastic tie wraps

I've got it sorted. Went to local pound shop where they were selling 2.5 metres of quite nice wire fencing for a few quid. I couldn't get enough to do the whole job but I put up what I had this evening and it seemed to work well. The pesky puppy seemed quite happy to walk along the sides and didn't consider jumping over. Although she did walk to the end of the fence and then wander in on the soil when it stopped! Gotta get back to the shop on Monday for more!
what is the pesky puppy you have probably said already but as you know after losing 3 in the past few weeks my heads not been on straight thanks for your kind words in the past ruthxx

Oh she is an out and out crossbreed/heinz/mongrel ruth. Even the vet isn't sure what she is!! She is a rescue dog. We got her when she was about 6 months old and she is approx 10 months old now. Hopefully this link will work to show you a photo of her.

Shivvy, the link did work for me & what a great pic, she looks a right rag-bag but adorable.
She probably will get bigger will she then jump over your fencing.?

She absolutely is a complete ragbag phylkat! (very good description)
Don't think she is likely to get much bigger but even if she does, I'm hoping the training will have kicked in by then to stop her from jumping over!
She looks like butter wouldn't melt in that photo but she can be a proper terror!
Feel free to suggest what you think her parentage might be - the vet has (quite half-heartedly) said that she might have wire-haired terrier in her but whatever else is a mystery!
she is lovely looks like she could have the devil in her every once in a while bet she could help you with the digging. ruthxx
Shiv vy, I thought about what you said & I think there may be a portion of 'Jack Russle' there somewhere.
I'm sure she will give you a lot of joy in the years to come.

(& a tummy tickle for her) Ni-night.

Thanks pk and ruth.
She is a rescue dog so is only learning now what other dogs would have learned when they were 2-3 months old. However she is clever and keen to learn so I am sure she will come on just fine.
