I have entered a time that my computer is inactive before the Screen Saver comes into effect as 6 minutes. But for some reason every now and then I have noticed that this time has been changed to 180 minutes. Why I do not know as I have not done this alteration myself. Has anybody got any suggestions as to what could be causing this to happen. I would be most grateful as this is bewildering me.

Sorry to state the obvious, but could you have forgotten to click 'apply' after altering the time? This is easily done and, although they would never admit it, even experts forget to do this sometimes.

Yes wildwood I did click 'apply' to save the setting. In fact I have quite frequently checked that the time is still the same, which it has been but amazingly on the umpteenth check the time has changed to 180 mins. Baffleing what.
Check out the forum at: www.just2good.co.uk They seem to be able to answer anything!
Do a virus scan. Screen savers have a .scr file extension and viruses can be deployed with .scr and install with out you knowing. (Probly over-cautious, but better 2bd safe than sorry.) Other than that, check power settings in control panel.

Thanks dappycow I'll check that site out. I've already checked the power settings Potatoman and done a virus scan without any favourable results but thanks anyway.
