What alchoholic drinks were around when you were of the age to start drinking. I would feel really special and grown up to be bought a babycham with cherries on a cocktail stick lol!!!
My dad owned a cine camera when we were young, on one of those films were my older brothers having a party at mums, they were drinking 'party seven' This question will probably have more significance to those late 40s onwards? Although maybe drinks have changed over the last few years anyway. I find it hard to order a cinzano these days at the bar, has that had it's day? More often than not, I will these days have a dry martini and lemonade. So, drinks from years ago?

Oh babycham! I was allowed one babycham (complete with cherry and cocktail stick, lol) at one of our family parties. I was too young to drink then. Or a snowball (again with a cherry on a stick!) I adored snowballs but Im not sure i could drink one these days, the thought makes me feel sick, lol

When i was about 20 (im 36 now) the "in" drink was diamond white! do they still make that stuff?
Cherry B was another favourite! lol

We used to drink halves of cider with a shot of Cherry B in, up in Manchester it was known as 'half a legover', lol! My grandparents would sneak me a Snowball every now and then over Christmas and I recall my mum once getting overly tipsy on Barley Wine, aaaah, the 70's.... :o)
That brings back memories. I remember Party Seven and we always used to drink Hirondelle wine as it was cheap and came in enormous bottles. When I got a bit older I thought Black Tower or Blue Nun wine was the height of sophistication! I also used to like Dubonnet or Cinzano and lemonade - I couldn't drink it now. I'm very much a Pinot Grigio or Chianti drinker now.

Hi lou - Snowball lol!! I'm sure they are still on sale! Diamond white, strong cider? Think that is still sold too. What about cherry B, maybe you are too young to remember, I'm 49 this December. Just remembered a concoction, though I don't think I ever liked it (snakebite?)
we used to drink woodpecker cider down the park lol
hahaha i was just going to mention snakebite! lawd that was a lethal combination!
I used to love a snowball and im a bloke and a babycham as well and as for diamond white lou26 jeeezzzeee head blower or wat, must admit I have not seen it for some time though.

Got to tell you about my 21st birthday! I pleaded with my mum and dad to have a party at their house, but on the condition they would go out . Well, they never did allow it, thank god for that! I ended up having a joint Christmas party / 21st with friends that were in to everthing lol!! I am sweating thinking about what might have been if I was allowed to have he party at home! Not talking sex, they were in to drugs.

I'm only nearly 49 and I look a young 49, but now I feel really old, cheers lol!!!
I'm a couple of years older than you skyep so I can remember the "fashions" you mention. I cringe to think what we looked like. In fact my mother wouldn't be seen out with me at one point because I insisted in going everywhere barefoot and I think she was ashamed that people might think she couldn't afford the shoes! I was about 13 and was very into flower power at the time.

bensmum - Awww, your poor mum, you can understand now when you look back I suppose. I had a pair of chocholate brown platform boots, they were so brill!
